Peer Review Process

AL-ADABIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam applies a double-blind peer review process to support the academic quality, originality, and integrity of published articles. Author and reviewer identities remain anonymous throughout the review.

1. Preliminary Editorial Assessment

The editorial team screens submissions for relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, scientific merit, novelty, and compliance with the Author Guidelines.

Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Authors are encouraged to check similarity before submission, and editors use Turnitin for plagiarism screening. Submissions that do not meet the journal’s requirements may be declined or returned for correction.

2. Reviewer Selection

Suitable manuscripts are assigned to expert reviewers whose knowledge matches the subject of the research. Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their assessment.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, scholarly contribution, methodological soundness, analysis, clarity, and relevance. They provide constructive feedback to help authors improve their work.

Recommendations may include:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Accept with major revisions

  • Reject

Manuscripts and review reports are treated confidentially.

4. Editorial Decision

Editors determine whether a manuscript is accepted based on the reviewers’ comments and its academic quality. Authors receive the decision and anonymized feedback to guide any required revisions.

5. Revision and Resubmission

Authors revise their manuscripts in response to the reviewers’ comments and submit an explanation of the changes made. Revised manuscripts may undergo further evaluation before a final decision is reached.

6. Final Editing and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed through copyediting, proofreading, and layout preparation. The Editor-in-Chief determines publication timing and article order, considering acceptance dates, the geographical distribution of authors, and the thematic focus of the issue.
